Strain Review: Haleys Comet by The Flying Dutchman Seeds

Haley’s Comet is an early maturing F1 hybrid developed by Californian and Dutch seed breeders and presented by the Flying Dutchman industry. She is one of thousand cannabis breeds based on the famous Skunk No.1. In this strain, she was crossed with an Early Californian variety which gives her a sweet pungent flavor and aroma; a combination with a well balanced physical cerebral skunk high makes Haley’s Comet one of the most popular marijuana in the modern smoking society.

Haley’s Comet seed got its name after one of the brightest comets known since 1531. This comet attracted the attention of space explores by being the clearest, brightest and shiniest in the sky. Haley’s Comet cannabis fully follows this description – she definitely stands out of a crowd of all sativa dominated hybrids and brings a variety into the market.

Like any Skunk based cross, the seeds of this variety are very easy to cultivate, they have a good germination rate and produce healthy, stress resistant seedlings. The development of the seedlings are consistent and predictable, they can be put under 12 hrs flowering cycle straight away. The growing plants begin to look more like a sativa, a good branching system is supported by a strong sturdy stem of a light green color. This cannabis has a surprisingly short for a sativa flowering period, a harvest is ready in just 12 weeks. Haley’s Comet produces loads of bud sites, the pre-flowers appear already at the 2nd/3rd week. The slightest reduction of photoperiod can trigger the flowering even earlier.

The buds produced by this cannabis are ghostly looking, tight snowballs made of frozen lumps of gas and rock, and get outerspacy bright under lights. They tend to change their color from white to sort of orange/gold by the harvest. The average outside yield is as high as 350 gr. per m2 with the harvest starting in September/October.

Marijuana produced by this plants has a strong physical cerebral high; she has a very pleasant sweet and pungent, real Afghani smell and taste and burns quickly.
