Strain Review: Moby Dick by Dinafem

Moby Dick is the most famous strain from Dinafem. It’s also one of their most powerful and most typical sativa. Moby Dick is the result of crossing the 2 finest clones of Dinafem’s Mother Plants, a sativa with an indica.

Moby Dick is Dinafem’s most psychoactive strain with a concentration of up to 21% THC and the appearance of THCV, a compound present in equatorial sativa’s produced in response to the ultraviolet sun rays; this substance makes the impact of the THC more powerful, to the point that the effect can be experienced after just two or three puffs. The low CBD concentration helps to make the effect psychoactively intense and long lasting; it speeds you up both mentally and physically and the come down is extensive, a little physical and apparent. It produces great food cravings and thirst, and it is advisable to eat and drink well, to deal with its effects. High THC content.

There are two primary phenotypes for this cross, a dominant sativa which is found in 65% of the plants approximately, and the rest, that are commonly more compact and quicker. The sativa phenotype has a wood, pine, incense fragrance, and the indica variety is sweeter. To develop this particular strain to its full potential, it requires large amounts of light, up to 800 watts per square meter and a very high E.C between 1.5 and 2.00 because this strain needs more feeding than the majority of the strains. It is highly recommended to control the pH as well, making sure it does not go beyond 6.5 otherwise it could show symptoms of iron deficiency in the form of gradual yellowing of the intervenal spaces on the leaves and wrinkling on the tips of the leaflets. This deficiency doesn’t actually affect the plant?s health but it might limit the crop if it is really serious.

Outdoors, full sunlight, abundant soil and water and widely spacing the cannabis plants 3 m apart will ensure trees that grow to 3 m high and a crop as high as 1500 grams.

The flowering time period is rather quick indoors (60/70 days), half October outdoors with great mold resistance inherited from the sativa parent plant.
