The National Library of Medicine Shows an Exponential Increase in Marijuana Research

According to records from the #National #Library of #Medicine between years 1990 and 1999 researchers published an estimated 3000 #papers on #cannabis. By contrast, since 2010, more than 23,000 peer-reviewed papers have been published. This overwhelming #increase in research is due to the newfound interest in the #therapeutic properties of cannabis. According to #industry insiders, medical papers specific to cannabis were most likely to address its use in the #treatment of #HIV, #chronic #pain, multiple #sclerosis, #nausea, or #epilepsy.

Interestingly, an estimated 60% of the #research on cannabis was categorized as “original research.” This speaks for the unexplored quality of cannabis and proves that there is still much to learn from the #plant.
